I’d suspect a lot more but I could be wrong – This study was based on photovoltaics which are more expensive. Solar thermal is even less expensive but not as far along in development. We get a lot of sun during the summer, especially east of the mountains. Solar may work here to balance out the fact that we use up much of our water by the end of the summer. We can also export solar energy to CA for their summer cooling loads.
